Alice Cooper-Jackson, UFT District 11 Representative

Since I am in schools most of the day, the best and quickest way to contact me is by email.  I get the emails on my handheld and can respond to them or get the ball rolling on your enquiry, almost immediately.  You can send a message directly from this site just click here and send.

You can also leave a message in my voice mail.  My voicemail messages are returned when I get back into the office so there can be a delay in returning your call depending on my schedule.  To expedite your enquiry, your message should be as detailed as possible and remember to leave your phone number.

If you have an emergency (injury, arrest, etc) inform your Chapter Leader immediately and call the Bronx Office. They will provide the necessary assistance and will contact me.

Many times your questions can be answered by members of the Bronx Office staff.  The Bronx Office has specialists in many areas (Salary, Pension, Safety, Certification, Health, Leaves, Sabbaticals) to assist you with specific questions.  Tell the secretary the nature of your call so it can be directed to the relevant specialist and handled appropriately.  The office is open until 6pm every day except Thursday, when it is open until 7pm.  No appointments are necessary to see a specialist, except Pension Specialists who require an appointment.

The Bronx Borough Office is located at:

2500 Halsey Street, Bronx, NY 10461 but the entrance to the UFT is actually on Commerce Avenue.

The closest subway station is at Westchester Square on the 6 line, two blocks from the office.
